Drivers who park illegally will have their license plates removed. Besides the policemen who are regularly appointed to monitor such violations, another 40 district police agents will be dispatched to 40 streets in Chisinau, today. Aurelia Mija, Traffic Police Division press officer, stated that special attention will be paid to the capital’s main arteries, especially near commercial centers. According to the police, illegal parking creates accident risk and traffic jams, sometimes blocking an entire lane with hundreds of passengers in public transports. The drivers who will not be near their car, will find the license plate removal order on their windshield, with which they’ll have to go to the Police Commissariat to get a minute. They will have to pay a fine between 100 and 200 lei, and will get 2 penalty points, and if the parked car is an obstacle for other vehicles, the fines rises up to 2,000 lei. According to data from the Chisinau Traffic Police, just in the last two days hundreds of drivers have been notified not to park illegally, and another 150 had their license plates removed.
