Moldova enjoys the sympathy of the Polish authorities that will continue to fully support the country’s European course. The statement was made in a meeting of Head of Parliament Igor Corman with the Marshals of the Seim and Senate of Poland Ewa Kopacz and Bogdan Borusewicz. The Polish officials assured that they will pay special attention to the signing and ratification of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Parliament’s press service.

“Poland is Moldova’s friend and in difficult times you can fully count on our support. Poland will continue to support Moldova’s European course,” said Ewa Kopacz, congratulating the Moldovans on the obtaining of the right to move freely in the EU. She announced that she will visit Moldova this autumn.

The Speaker thanked the Polish authorities for the assistance offered to Moldova in coming closer to the EU, including for the recent decision to provide a loan of €100 to Moldova for developing agriculture.

Igor Corman reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ readiness to sign the Association Agreement with the EU in Brussels on June 27 and to ratify it by the end of the legislature’s spring session. “We would be glad if the EU member states do the same in sign of solidarity and support,” he stated.
