The President of Poland Andrzej Duda through Twitter congratulated Maia Sandu on her victory in the president elections and for a successful presidential campaign, noting that “Poland is determined to strengthen high-level Polish-Moldovan relations both on bilateral and European level.” The President of Poland also signed a congratulatory message that was sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland issued a press release, saying that it took note of the calm conduct of both rounds of presidential elections in the Republic of Moldova. “We welcome with appreciation the victory of the candidate of pro-European opposition, former prime-minister Maia Sandu. This victory marks a clear choice of Moldovan society in favor of democratic development as well as the full and final overcoming of years of Soviet domination and unfinished transformation.
“We hope that this victory provides new dynamics to the process of reforms supported by the EU in the framework of the Eastern Partnership. We also hope for their full implementation. We trust that in this way strong foundations for competitive economy will be laid – and this will bring along prosperity to Moldovan society in the future.”
Poland declares its readiness to fully cooperate with President-elect Maia Sandu and the government of the Republic of Moldova in order to strengthen the position of this country within the framework of cooperation of European states, runs the press release.
IPN reminds that Poland, including through its Embassy in Chisinau managed by Bartłomiej Zdaniuk has implemented a wide program of important bilateral and European cooperation projects in Moldova.
