Poland President to visit Moldova
Poland's President Bronislaw Komorowski will pay a visit to Chisinau on December 3. He stated today at a meeting with Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat in Warsaw that he is looking forward to this visit in order to further contribute to the deepening of bilateral relations.
As the Moldovan Government's press service reported, Vlad Filat appreciated the quality and consistency of the political dialogue between Moldova and Poland over the last two decades. He noted that Poland is becoming an indisputable European leader, whose influence has grown and whose voice has increasingly been heard at both regional and international level. Vlad Filat said that Moldova further counts on Poland's support in its dialogue with the European Union.
“We are making progresses in the negotiations on the Association Agreement with the European Union, which also includes the creation of a Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area. Our objective is to complete negotiations until the Eastern Partnership Summit, to take place in Vilnius in November 2013”, said the Prime Minister.
An important part of the two officials' discussion was economic cooperation. Vlad Filat noted that Poland is the European Union's largest importer of Moldovan wine. “I hope that the Second Moldo-Polish Business Forum on December 4 will contribute to intenser relations between the business communities of our countries and will stimulate Polish investments in Moldova”, said the Moldovan Prime Minister.
Bronislaw Komorowski, for his part, reiterated Poland's support for Moldova's European bid and for a timely resolution of the Transnistrian conflict.
