Poland President killed in plane crash in Russia
Polish President Lech Kaczynski died today in a plane crash along other 95 people aboard, as the presidential aircraft was approaching a military airport in the Russian region of Smolensk, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Smolensk governor Sergey Antufiev told the television channel Vesti-24 no one on board survived the crash.
Lech Kaczynski was flying to Katyn, near Smolensk, to commemorate Russian and Polish victims of Soviet leader Josef Stalin. Several ministers, top politicians, clergymen, as well as the president's wife, Maria, were accompanying Lech Kaczynski.
