Lab results showed the poisoning of children of Nursery School No. 3 located in Briceni town was caused by salmonella. The examinations continue and other details will be provided later. The number of acute diarrheal diseases at this nursery rose to 36, the Ministry of Health has said, quoted by IPN.
Thirty of the 36 children were admitted to the Briceni District Hospital, while six receive treatment at home, under the supervision of the family doctor. Their state of health is of medium and light gravity.
Specialists of the Briceni Public Health Center, in concert with the primary medical assistance services, took a number of measures to early detect the cases of illness and identified the additional cases of acute diarrheal diseases.
On July 9, 27 children of the nursery suffered poisoning and the school was closed. The investigations go on to establish the source and methods of transmission of the infection.
