According to the Public Opinion Barometer (POB) presented by the Public Policy Institute on April 24, if a referendum on Moldova joining the European Union was held, the participants would vote as follows:
44% – for,
37% – against,
the others are undecided.
The number of those who are against joining the European Union has increased continuously over the last four years: from 18% in May 2010 to 37% in April 2014.
If a referendum on joining the Eurasian Customs Union was held, the preferences would be as follows:
45% – for,
34% – against,
the others are undecided.
The number of those who would vote for the Customs Union has decreased compared with two years ago, down from 57%.
If put in the situation to choose one of the two options in one referendum, the voters would form two general groups:
41% would vote for joining the European Union,
41% would vote for joining the Customs Union.
The survey was carried out between March 28 and April 13 and covered a sample of 1,115 people from 76 settlements. The margin of sampling error is 3%.
