PNL says it will in constructive opposition to AEI and welcomes creation of commission for condemning Communist crimes
The National Liberal Party (PNL) says it will be in constructive opposition to the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) and welcomes the presidential decree to set up the commission for condemning the crimes committed by the Communist regime. The party expressed its positions in two documents formulated after the recent meeting of the PNL's Central Standing Bureau.
The PNL said it will play the role of constructive opposition in the relations with the AEI and will monitor the performance of the new Government. It will also submit proposals and propose solutions.
The PNL welcomes the presidential decree to create a commission for condemning the crimes committed by the Communists. The party expressed its position on this issue in a legislative initiative that was presented by the former MP Vitalia Pavlicenco in the Parliament in 2006 and in the Statement of December 19, 2009.
The PNL says that the Liberal Party, the European Action Movement, the National Liberal Party and other parties should join forces in order to prevent the weakening of the right.
The party's Central Standing Bureau approved for the PNL's news conference the following topics: liquidation of the Communist symbols and monuments, adoption of the law on lustration, replacement of the Border Treaty with a Strategic Pro-Europe Partnership between Romania and Moldova, holding of the corrupt Communists accountable, investigation of the April 7 events, etc.
