The National Liberal Party (PNL) of Romania aims to become a bridge between the Romanian state and the Romanians from over the Prut River. This will happen through the agency of a local organization of the party in Moldova, the branch’s acting head Tudor Cojocariu said in a news conference at IPN.
“By creating a local organization of the PNL in Moldova, besides strengthening the ties between the Romanians from here with Romania and with the institutions from Romania, we aim to become a bridge and to institutionalize the connection that existed until now and that now gets an institutional form,” stated Tudor Cojocariu.
MP of the PNL Romania Mugurel Cozmanciuc said the opening of this organization proves unity and intention of cooperation in the future, for the European course that must be supported. “First of all, we need infrastructure that would connect Moldova to Europe, more exactly a highway. In the area of culture, we must make sure that the broadcast schedules of the TV channels from Romania are transmitted in Moldova and vice versa. I assure you that I will provide such material, institutional and formal support with great openness,” he stated, announcing the intention of opening a parliamentary office in Moldova next year.
Senator Viorel Badea said that by the organizations working now outside the county, the Romanians from abroad will be able to make themselves heard and to contribute to the political decisions taken in Romania. “This is actually the goal pursued by creating these organizations and we hope that we will manage to attract the attention not only of the politicians from Romania, so that they realize what being Romanian abroad means, but also of the colleagues from Moldova,” he stated.
Lawmaker of the PNL Romania Ionut Stroe noted that the party wants the organization opened in Chisinau to really become an embassy of the Romanian policy actions. “I think that our representation as political party in Chisinau is an essential element in our cooperation and the favorable communication we want to have at political, economic and institutional levels,” he said.
The organization starts work today, November 29.
