Representatives of the National Liberal Party (PNL) cross the Prut River more and more often to be closer to their brothers. Strengthening ties between the two banks of the Prut, within the same party, was one of the objectives of the meeting with members of PNL Diaspora Republic of Moldova, the PNL leader Nicolae Ciucă, president of the Romanian Senate, stated in an event held in Chisinau, IPN reports.
“For the well-being of our citizens, the Republic of Moldova and Romania must remain on our common path, the European one. The advantages of integration into the European Union are clearly seen in our case – the minimum wage in Romania is almost ten times higher today, and the pension is almost four times higher. And these are just a few examples. Polls show that an increasing number of citizens of the Republic of Moldova understand these benefits, and this election year is crucial for our countries,” said Nicolae Ionel Ciucă.
In his opinion, there is a need for growing aacknowledgement of the danger of extremism, whose vectors spread empty promises, when all they can bring is chaos and division. “We must limit their rise and impact and preserve our European path. Romania remains the closest partner and friend of the Republic of Moldova and we will stand by them unconditionally. I congratulate Mr. Adrian Dupu, chairman of PNL Diaspora Republic of Moldova, for the strong organization he leads here and for promoting liberal values on both banks of the Prut River,” said the PNL Romania leader.
For his part, Adrian Dupu said that 2024 is a very important year, both for Romania and for the Republic of Moldova. According to him, elections will be organized both on the left side and on the right side of the Prut, and the historical stakes are fabulous in terms of symbols that will define the common future. “Under constant pressure from those who do not want peace and well-being in this part of Europe, we, the Liberals, have the historic duty to defend democracy, both against the fury of hybrid war felt by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova and against the pressure of extremism that haunts today with desperation and hatred the whole of Europe,” noted Adrian Dupu, State Secretary of the Department for Relations with the Republic of Moldova.
The chairman of PNL Diaspora Republic of Moldova said that there is a firm commitment to keep the National Liberal Party on the first place in the Republic of Moldova in all elections this year. Over and over again, we, the Liberals, were here whenever we were needed. We have helped and will continue to support the European path of the Republic of Moldova. This is our historical mission, assumed in detail,” stated Adrian Dupu.
Attending the event, MEP Rareș Bogdan said that the left side of the Prut River is very important. “We follow very closely and try to support everything that Romania means, everything that the European path means for Moldova. And in four and a half years, in Brussels and Strasbourg, we signed perhaps the most serious challenges for Moldova to reach the situation of candidate country, to pope the accession negotiations,” not the official. He also said that he would like very much the Republic of Moldova to become the 28th EU state as Europe needs the Republic of Moldova, and the Republic of Moldova can reunite with Romania in the European Union.
