The National Liberal Party (PNL) amended its statutes and program, including in them the political objective to reunify the two Romanian states – Moldova and Romania, Info-Prim Neo reports. The third Congress of the PNL held on December 3 coincided with the fifth anniversary of the party’s reconstitution on the political arena. “We want to remove the Romania-phobia from the people’s hearts. We want the population to feel free and not to be afraid to tell that they are Romanian or to aspire to regain the Romanian identity,” said the party’s chairman Vitalia Pavlichenko. According to her, the PNL wants Moldova to unite with Romania so as to become a member of NATO and the EU as soon as possible and to detach itself from the Russian influence. “Moldova becomes more unmanageable owing to the acerbic intersection of the geostrategic interests of the two worlds – of the democratic standards, freedom and prosperity and of the eastern chaos and unpredictability, which is a powerful world, but has negative effects on the destiny of the Romanians, especially the Bessarabians,” said Vitalia Pavlichenko. The PLN adopted a statement, saying the party will remain active on the political arena, being considered by the voters as the most courageous and credible of the extraparliamentary parties, because it becomes involved in solving the most serious problems of the people. The party invited representatives of important Romanian parties and a series of Moldovan public associations to the congress. According to Vitalia Pavlichenko, the PNL has about 10,000 members organized into local associations. More than 300 persons took part in the congress.
