Prime Minister Vlad Filat, who heads the Liberal Democratic Party, came to cast his ballot together with his wife Sanda Filat. He said that he voted for a free and democratic future, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vlad Filat stated he expects a result that will ensure the continuation of the steps taken to Europeanize Moldova and improve administration at the local level. “The elections are very important because the local public authorities, in cooperation with the central authorities, can resolve the excising problems,” he said. The leader of the PLDM expressed his conviction that the democratic forces will win the elections in Chisinau. “The Municipal Council must be functional and I’m sure that today’s elections will be successful,” stressed Vlad Filat. The Premier said after voting that he will continue his workday. He will go to the Government, the party’s head office and will monitor the work of the institutions involved in the elections. Vlad Filat voted at polling place No. 132 situated inside the Geography Faculty of the Tiraspol State University on Drumul Viilor St. According to the polling place’s chairman Sergiu Berejanschi, about 60 persons voted there by 10.00. Most of them were elderly persons. A number of 1,618 voters are expected to cast their ballots at that polling place.
