Prime Minister Dorin Recean is going to formulate proposals for Cabinet reshuffles during the next 10 days. He made the announcement at the beginning of Wednesday's meeting of the Cabinet, IPN reports.
"I want to thank the almost 1 million people who voted for President Sandu as they reaffirmed our plan to develop within the great European family, and also for the leader who is capable of achieving this goal. I also thank those who voted for the challenger Stoianoglo because they drew the Government's attention to the problems and needs they have," said Premier Recean.
According to the official, both those who voted for President Sandu and those who voted for her opponent clearly showed that particular changes must be made in policies, in the Cabinet. The proposals will be presented during the next 10 days.
In another development, Dorin Recean referred to the electoral fraud. "The investigation and punishment of fraud must be completed. It is clear that justice hasn’t worked enough and that’s why we witnessed the development of such a large voter fraud network. Respectively, we must understand that justice doesn’t consist only of laws, self-administrative bodies. Justice also consists of concrete people, who apply the law. It's clear that we can't go at such a pace anymore. There are still too few brave people," noted the official.
Before the runoff presidential election, Maia Sandu spoke about Cabinet reshuffles that are to be made by the end of this year. During an electoral debate, the President admitted that there are outstanding areas in the work of the executive reshuffles will take place in the near future. The head of state said that if some members of the government team broke the law, the state institutions are encouraged to take a stand and punish any abuse.
