PM Iurie Leanca meets diaspora in Paris

Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and the members of the governmental delegation who are in Paris on an official visit had a meeting with representatives of the Moldovan diaspora in the evening of June 16. They spoke about the Moldovan-French relations and the situation in the country, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Government’s press service, most of the questions referred to the steps that Moldova will take after the Association Agreement with the EU is signed and the way the entrepreneurs and farmers will be supported so that they enjoy the possibilities offered by the Free Trade Area.

The representatives of the diaspora raised a number of issues concerning social protection, attraction of French investments and the way the Moldovans who settled abroad can support the transformations in state institutions and in the economy.

In France there are over 40,000 Moldovan citizens. A part of the citizens who stay legally in France are students and highly qualified persons who work.

There are 16 associations of the Moldovan community in France.
