Prime Minister Ion Chicu is paying a working visit to Poland where he is taking part in the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, in the first half of the day Premier Chicu had a working meeting with the president of the Administration Board of the Polish company “Sinergia Trans” Bogdan Marek Gruszka. Later, alongside other officials, he attended the commemoration ceremony held in front of the Gate of Death at the former Auschwitz camp that is now a museum and memorial. The event brought together heads of state and government from about 60 countries.
In the evening, Premier Chicu had a working meeting with the director general of the pharmaceutical company “Hasko-Lek” Stanislaw Han, a member of the Economic Board working under the President of the Republic of Poland.
International Holocaust Remembrance Day is an international memorial day celebrated on January 27.
