Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița denied that the Cabinet can be dismissed. She assured that the government team is united and determined to cope with the challenges caused by the energy crisis, the economic crisis and the war in Ukraine. The discussions about eventual replacements in the Cabinet are counterproductive as they reduce the efficiency of the ministries that are rumored to remain without administration, IPN reports.

Premier Gavrilița noted that the discussions about eventual dismissals in the Government only affect the capacity of the state to efficiently manage the crises. She assured that the current Government will complete its duties as it is supported by the parliamentary majority and the President.

“Four ministers were replaced during 15 months of the formation of the Cabinet. They have spoken about replacements in the Cabinet since the very beginning. But we must realize that we have a Government. There are aspects that need to be managed better and faster and communication needs to be improved. I do not want to specify the area as rumors will start immediately. And how is the state weakened? By rumors. The rumors weaken the state because many people depend on the administration of a ministry and they don’t do their job as they wait for the minister to leave. The discussions about replacements are counterproductive. I want to assure you that we are a solid team and we have a four-year mandate,” Natalia Gavrilița stated in the program “In Depth” on ProTV Chisinau channel.

She also said that during the nocturnal meeting of the PAS ministers and MPs and President Maia Sandu, it was decided to improve the quality of governance and more changes can yet follow.

“Such discussions are normal in a democratic state. We discussed the improvement of governance in general. We had discussions and then replacements. We now need to calm down. A hard winter is approaching. We are a Parliament and a Government guided by Missis President who works to improve the life of citizens. If it is the case, if the circumstances change in a month, changes can take place, but I do not want speculations to follow,” said the official.

On November 18, PAS MP Dumitru Alaiba and secretary of state of the Ministry of Environment Rodica Iordanov took over the two ministries in the place of Sergiu Gaibu and Iuliana Cantaragiu, who stepped down.
