PM Filat: If my proposal isn't put up for vote, we'll have to have another Speaker
“If my proposal isn't put up for a vote, then we'll have to have another Speaker of Parliament who is up to the task”, Vlad Filat told reporters during a break of the Parliament's sitting on Wednesday, after he proposed the legislature to dismiss the director of the Security and Intelligence Service, the Prosecutor-General and the head of the National Finance Market Commission, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“I'd be very surprised if the Alliance colleagues and in particular Mr. Lupu put the interests of these heads of agencies ahead of the interest of the Alliance”, said Vlad Filat.
“There are circumstances that require our reaction and I think it makes good sense to advance this proposal”, Filat stated. He added that if barriers appeared in front of his requests, they would be removed, but didn't specify how exactly.
Vlad Filat went on to say that he didn't consider the Eurointegration Alliance to be dead; on the contrary, his proposals were meant to fortify it.
After Filat's speech in Parliament, the Liberal-Democratic faction requested a break. MP Valeriu Strelet, the faction's leader, said it was needed so that the ad-hoc working group could formulate proposals for a resolution on the parliamentary hearings on the raider attacks.
