“June 27 is a historical day for the Republic of Moldova and represents an important step towards the integration into the EU. The Republic of Moldova is part of the European family and today brought us closer to the roots,” the Liberal Reformist Party (PLR) says in a congratulatory message addressed to Moldova’s people on the occasion of the signing of the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement with the EU, IPN reports.

“The power of will and the work done by the current government and by every citizen of Moldova helped us achieve the goal and fulfill out national interest. Extensive work is now to be done to implement the provisions of the signed agreement so as to build a really European state in Moldova. Together we will succeed,” reads the PLR’s message.

Moldova signed the Association Agreement with the EU on June 27.
