PLR presents candidates for Parliament, Ana Gutu not among them

The Liberal Reformist Party (PLR) announced its list of candidates for the November 30 parliamentary elections. The list is headed by the party’s leader Ion Hadarca, who is followed by Deputy Prime Minister Tatiana Potang and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ion Bodrug. The list does not include the party’s co-chairwoman Ana Gutu, who asked herself not to be written on it. The list will be submitted to the Central Election Commission (CEC) today, at 3pm, IPN reports.

The next on the list are Valeriu Saharneanu, Vadim Cojocaru, Vadim Vacarciuc, Veaceslav Bulat, Veaceslav Vladicescu, Mihai Ciocanu, and Maxim Gutu.

Ion Hadarca told a news conference that Ana Gutu sent a letter to the party, informing that she does not want to be included on the list given that her proposal that all the candidates of the PLR should take part in the elections on the list of another party wasn’t accepted by the PLR’s National Political Council. Liberal-Reformist MP Anatol Arhire also asked not to be written on the list.

Ion Hadarca said the list will be yet modified. The party is now holding talks with a number of personalities who haven’t yet provided a definite answer.

He also said that the three ministers of the PLR - Valeriu Troenco, Octavian Bodisteanu and Valentina Tapis – haven’t been yet included in the list. They cannot resign until they do not complete certain projects.

The political parties can file the documents required to be registered as election runners to the CEC from October 3 until October 30.
