The Liberal Reformism Party (PLR) denounces the election rigging by influencing and manipulating the public with the help of politically biased TV channels. The party intends to submit a complaint to the Broadcasting Coordination Council and the Central Election Commission today, November 12, IPN reports.

The Reformists are concerned about the two bodies’ inaction to the fact that a number of TV channels became electoral platforms for the Democratic Party and the Liberal Democratic Party. “Besides the manipulation of the public through the appropriated media outlets and the lack of appropriate reaction on the part of the state institutions that are obliged to ensure a correct election campaign, we warn about much more extended political control by parties managed by oligarchs,” it is said in a communiqué issued by the PLR.

In this connection, the Liberal Reformist Party warns that the freedom of the media, which is one of the most important accomplishments of a democratic state, enshrined in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, is jeopardized by the oligarchs.
