PLR calls on extra-parliamentary pro-European parties to join forces

PLR launched a call for right-wing and center-right pro-European extra-parliamentary parties to join forces in a platform of solidarity and build a national project for Moldova. In a press release of the party, the Liberal Reformists say that the coalition that is currently being formed has serious integrity issues, as well as a history of crisis, instability and stagnation of reforms, IPN reports.

According to PLR, the parliamentary parties have shown that once they come to power, they focus only on selfish issues like the distribution, occupation and control of state institutions, including the justice and the mass-media, and forget about the country's internal and external priorities. Meanwhile, the opposition parties are supported illegally and subversively by Moscow and employ ethnic hatred to divide Moldovan society and even territory.

In this situation, the Liberal Reformists argue that Moldova needs a national political project that would consolidate all the national democratic pro-European parties. The immediate task of these joint forces is to determine, together with civil society, the government and to promote the reforms stipulated in the EU Association Agreement, to fight corruption and ensure the independence of the judiciary and the mass-media. The second task of the joint extra-parliamentary forces is to fight and expose any subversive action against national interests. PLR thinks that at the current stage, the forces loyal to the national interest must join together and build a veritable, viable and truly European legal state that will serve the citizen and promote national and European values in everything it does.

The call was adopted unanimously by the National Political Council of PLR. The party obtained 1.56% of votes in the November 30 elections.
