In a press briefing on December 7, the Liberal-Democrat leader said the parties must take into account the people's vote. More than 60% of the electorate voted in favor of continuing the democratic reforms and the European integration efforts.
Vlad Filat stated he will contact his colleagues from the former Alliance for European Integration (AEI) to discuss the opening of the talks on the distribution of posts within the government coalition. According to him, the negotiations may open tomorrow.
The PLDM's position to form a Democratic coalition and continue the reforms initiated more than a year ago was supported by the foreign, especially European partners. The European partners sent clear signals that they are in favor of the restoration of the AEI, Vlad Filat said.
Among the priorities proposed by the PLDM for the future governing alliance are the development of the economy, optimization of the democratic institutions, decentralization of the local power, liberalization of the visa regime for Moldovan travelers, acceleration of European integration, signing of a deep and comprehensive free trade agreement with the EU, combating of poverty, eradication of corruption, and liquidation of monopoly.
Vlad Filat said the posts in the Cabinet will be distributed during talks in trilateral format, involving the PLDM, PDM and PL.
Vlad Filat reminded that the President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek is to come to Chisinau on December 10, while on December 15 he will take part in the meeting of the Political Bureau of the European People's Party, where he will present a report on the situation in Moldova.
