PLDM will not take part in negotiations on formation of ruling alliance

The Liberal Democratic Party will not take part in the negotiations on the formation of a new pro-European alliance, initiated by the Democratic Party, the acting leader of the PLDM Valeriu Strelet announced after the meeting of the party’s National Political Council, IPN reports.

“Given that the Democratic Party is not considered by the Liberal Democratic Party a pro-European party, this party took the state institutions under control and accepted particular reforms in the government program only for the sake of formalities, but permanently opposed the real implementation of these reforms, the PLDM will not take part in negotiations with the PDM and its allies to form a parliamentary coalition,” stated Strelet.

According to the acting leader of the PLDM, the party did honestly its duty, worked for the country’s benefit and implemented important reforms. Now that the Democrats deliberately caused this political crisis by dismissing a pro-European government, the PDM is fully responsible for finding solutions to create a parliamentary majority and to govern further.

The former Prime Minister said that now the forces of the right are to join efforts and to give a hope to Moldova by ensuring veritable European integration and establishing the rule of law.
