PLDM wants to ensure AEI's continuity, Doctor of History
The PLDM's offer shows that the Liberal-Democrats want to ensure the continuity of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI). The posts are distributed in the same way as within the previous alliance, Doctor of History Octavian Tacu, a lecturer of the Free International University of Moldova, stated for Info-Prim Neo.
According to Octavian Tacu, the PLDM's offer is unacceptable for the PDM owing to the improbability of electing the head of state. In the AEI, the PDM was disfavored. These discussions between the Communists and Democrats are designed to increase the maneuverability of the Democratic Party as it holds the levers of influence within both of the possible alliances. “It is a kind of blackmail that can strengthen the PDM's position,” said Octavian Tacu.
The lecturer stated that the right-wing parties, especially the PLDM, were delighted by the results of the elections and forgot about the important problems faced by the country for a while. The proposals like the PDM's offer are not made through the mass media, but in a more serious way, he said.
Octavian Tacu believes a center-right alliance will be formed as a center-left alliance is irrational if taking into account the events that took place in Moldova during the last year and a half and the people's attitude towards communism.
“A large part of the people expressed their position on communism on April 7. The Moldovans who are abroad and the European partners who invested in Moldova have great expectations. I consider the developments will favor the restoration of the AEI,” the lecturer said.
