PLDM suggests modifying law on privatization of dwellings

The Liberal-Democratic MPs propose amending the Law on the Privatization of the Housing Sector so as to create equitable conditions for all those who want to have their dwellings privatized. Therefore, the Lib-Dems submitted a legislative initiative aimed at updating the outdated provisions of the law of 1993, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM).

“Under the current Law on the Privatization of the Housing Sector, the length of service for those to whom the given law refers is calculated until the day this law was adopted, which is March 10, 1993. Therefore, those who have a considerable length of service after the adoption of this law are inequitably excluded from the potential group of people eligible to have their dwellings privatized,” says the informative note.

The Lib-Dems suggest calculating the total length of service of the applicants, by the day the application for privatization is submitted, not in the conditions laid down by the current law.
