The Liberal Democratic Party’s bill to amend the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova so that it allows for the direct election of the head of state, by the people, was submitted to the Constitutional Court for appraisal on November 3, IPN reports.
The PLDM said the bill was signed by 17 Liberal-Democratic MPs (including the informative note) and 24 Socialist MPs (on the title page).
In this connection, the party specifies that the statements of Socialist MP Vlad Batrancea, according to which an agreement was reached to file the bill to the Constitutional Court together at a particular hour, are not true. This wish was expressed by the Socialists, but the PLDM didn’t agree with it.
