The parliamentary group of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) accuses the parliamentary alliance of illegally making changes to the composition of standing parliamentary commissions and delegations. The group’s leader Tudor Deliu called on the embassies to inform the external partners about the ‘wrongdoings committed by the government’, IPN reports.

“The current government, which assumed commitments before the people as regard the fight against corruption, reformation of justice and strengthening of the rule of law institutions violates the legal provisions itself,” stated Tudor Deliu. He gave as example the vote to modify the composition of the Standing Bureau, of some of the parliamentary commissions and delegations in the last sitting of the legislature, when the changes were adopted by the parliamentary alliance.

The MP said that proposing changes to the composition of the standing commissions and delegations is the exclusive right of the parliamentary groups. Also, the Speaker of Parliament is obliged to designate the members of the parliamentary delegations after consulting the groups.

“The group of the PLDM calls on the EU Delegation to Moldova and the other embassies to inform the development partners about the wrongdoings committed by the government. We also call upon the people not to believe the promises of the rulers as these are false promises,” stated Tudor Deliu.

In the April 8 sitting of Parliament, a number of draft decisions were added to the agenda after the break. One of these referred to the replacement of the head of the commission on regional development, this post being given to Violeta Ivanov, who left the Communist group alongside 13 colleagues of her. Until recently, the post was held by Communist MP Elena Bodnarenco. In protest, the Communist, Socialist and Liberal-Democratic MPs left the assembly hall. But the quorum was present and the parliamentary alliance could vote the proposed changed.
