PLDM says electoral bloc with coalition parties is unlikely

The Liberal Democratic Party analyzed the results achieved until now and discussed the preparations for the election campaign in a meeting of the extended Political Council held on May 2.  The party’s leader Vlad Filat told the journalists that he does not think they will enter the elections in a bloc together with the parties of the government coalition, IPN reports.

“We had a constructive discussion, as it is normal for a ruling party. We took stock of the covered stages and discussed the plans. We are preparing for this autumn’s elections. We are at the planned stage. The agenda agreed at the beginning of this year is implemented,” said the politician.

Vlad Filat added that there is yet time until the party launches the electoral platform. “In politics, when you hasten the start, you may not get to the finish,” he stated.

He also said that they want the people in the election campaign of this autumn to be able to make their choice in a fair competition, based on the proposed projects and ideas.

“We will have a difficult campaign because there will be more a geopolitical choice. I don’t think that a bloc in the elections is possible, but any formula that will bring a result can be discussed. However, judging by objective analyses, the participation in blocs does not necessarily bring great results,” stated Vlad Filat.

The parliamentary elections will take place at the end of November.
