PLDM presents program designed to improve medical assistance

The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) says that it is the only party that has worked out a well-planned program aimed at improving the medical assistance for the population. The program focuses on all the groups of people, including the socially-vulnerable ones, the party says in a communiqué, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The Liberal-Democrats plead for equal access to care and treatment services for all the social groups, without stigmatization, prejudice and discrimination. The PLDM says that the NGOs should be engaged in the provision of care and treatment services and in the process of formulating policies in the field and entrusted with social tasks by the central and local public authorities. An important point, according to the PLDM, is the licensing of the practice of primary medical assistance and the lease of offices to family doctors, first of all in villages that do not have doctors at the moment. The party also says that the quality of the medical services should be improved by demonopolizing the obligatory health insurance system and creating an independent institution that would monitor the quality of the health services. “The implementation of the program will facilitate the active engagement of the civil society and of representatives of the patients in the monitoring of the quality and the protection of consumers’ rights, broader implementation of the mechanisms for motivating the medical personnel according to quality indicators, will solve the problems concerning the shortage of medical staff in rural areas and will channel financial resources directly into the Moldovan villages,” the PLDM says in the communiqués.
