PLDM, PDM, PL and PPEM discuss with European officials

The leaders of the pro-European parties – deputy head of the PLDM Vadim Pistrinciuc, chairman of the PDM Marian Lupu, leader of the PL Mihai Ghimpu and leader of the PPEM Iurie Leanca – had a discussion with European officials, representatives of the political families of which the four Moldovan parties form part, within a video conference held at the head office of the EU Delegation to Moldova in the evening of November 25, Deschide.md said, quoted by IPN.

Among the interlocutors from Brussels was Elmar Brok, Chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs and Vice President of the European People’s Party.

Vadim Pistrinciuc said the discussions centered on Europeans’ concerns about the political crisis in Moldova and on the possible delegation of a group of mediators to Moldova to foster an eventual negotiation process.

In the same connection,  Iurie Leanca said the EU officials warned that there is no alternative and those who were chosen by the people in the 2014 elections should sit unconditionally at the negotiating table and re-form the ruling alliance that would set priorities based on real, pro-European reforms for the future Government.

The same source said the European officials told the Moldovan politicians that they do not believe in the possibility of a technocratic government led by a politically unaffiliated Prime Minister and that no such precedents in the European states produced results. As to the coming of mediators to Moldova, they said it’s no use delegating these as long as there is no negotiation process in Chisinau.
