PLDM meets again with PDM

Representatives of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) will meet with members of the Democratic Party (PDM) on January 12 to discuss in detail the formation of a parliamentary majority. The announcement was made by Liberal-Democratic MP Valeriu Giletski after the meeting of the party’s Political Bureau. The lawmaker said the PLDM wants clarity to be made so as to be able to decide if its whole parliamentary group or only a part of it will take part in the formation of the majority, IPN reports.

“We maintain our position. If we form part of this majority, we want things to be made clear so that we know the whole picture and will then decide if we will form part of this parliamentary majority or not. There are particular red lines that we will discuss in the meeting and will then make them public” said Valeriu Giletski.

As to the decision of the seven Liberal-Democratic MPs to take part in the formation of the parliamentary majority, the politician said this was the result of lack of communication. “We must remain united and integral and must negotiate in the name of the group,” he stated.

Ion Balan, one of the Liberal-Democratic lawmakers who signed the statement on the formation of the parliamentary majority, said that they slightly forced the group to start constructive negotiations. “There are many questions inside the group and we tried to find answers to them today, together with our colleagues. We will raise again those questions in the planned meeting so that the whole group reaches the decision to take part in governance. If we go to discussions, this means that most of us are in favor. The group wants to take part in governance as a whole and we want this too,” he stated.

The meeting will take place in the Parliament Building starting at 1:30pm.
