The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) launches an extensive campaign titled “Vote without Fear”, which will start with a rally in the Great National Assembly Square accompanied by a protest march in central Chisinau on March 22. The PLDM leader Vlad Filat informed about the steps taken to ensure the people’s right to vote at a news conference on March 16, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We want very much to show the Moldovan people that they are nothing to be afraid of and tell them once again that if they vote for a Democratic government, our country will have a free and prosperous future,” Vlad Filat said. The PLDM leader called on the police to attend the protest scheduled for March 22 and make sure that it takes place smoothly. He said that no police officer was present at the February 22 protest. Vitalie Nagacevschi, candidate on behalf of the PLDM, said that the actions planned by the party will help the people express publicly their points of view. “The PLDM assumed the obligation not to leave the intimidation acts on the part of state institutions without attention. After April 5, every person involved in the intimidation of election runners will be held accountable in accordance with the Moldovan legislation. The series of auctions launched on March 22 will continue. According to the PLDM, international observers will also attend the protests.
