The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) calls on the leaders of all the parliamentary and extra-parliamentary parties and on civil society and the ordinary people of Moldova to sign the National Responsibility Pact for a European Moldova. First deputy chairman of the PLDM, Prime Minister Iurie Leanca told a news conference that this pact is a commitment as regards the European integration course, IPN reports.
According to Iurie Leanca, a historical event for Moldova will take place in 10 days, when the Association Agreement with the EU is to be initialed. This decision will cause resistance on the part of certain players from inside and outside. That’s why unity is needed as only the integration into the EU offers clear development and modernization prospects.
By this pact, the signatories pledge to act in concert and to ensure the cohesion of whole society, elites, political forces, civil society and the people. They also commit themselves to ensure the continuity of the European integration process, despite provocations and pressure, and to promote the European integration as a national project and to mobilize society around this project.
The pact also envisions building a European state. “We realize that by signing this pact, we become involved in the European transformations in Moldova,” said Iurie Leanca.
The signatories pledge to make effort to secure support for the European integration reforms and policies, to promote Moldova’s positive image abroad and the European values and to inform society about the advantages of the European integration process.
