The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) will hold a meeting on January 15 to decide whether to give a vote of confidence in Parliament to the Cabinet and government program that will be proposed by candidate for premiership Ion Paduraru or not, IPN reports.
The acting chairman of the PLDM Valeriu Strelet in a public event said the head of state’s decision to nominate Ion Paduraru as a candidate for Prime Minister is very courageous, but the candidate is now faced with the very difficult task of garnering the necessary number of votes in Parliament.
According to Valeriu Strelet, the situation is now difficult, but the people want to have hope and the Lib-Dems will be near the people so as to offer them this hope. He underlined that for him and his colleagues it is important to act as a united party in taking the decision as regards the vote for the future Government.
Ion Paduraru was proposed for premiership by President Nicolae Timofti on January 14. The candidate is to obtain a vote of confidence from Parliament by January 29.
