PLDM is skeptical about adoption of budgetary-fiscal policy by December 16
Liberal-Democrat MP Veaceslav Ionita expressed his skepticism about the adoption of the budgetary-fiscal policy before the presidential elections set for December 16, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The budgetary-fiscal policy was passed in first reading with great difficulty. I imagine how hard it will be to adopt it in second reading. The last time we spoke about the state budget and the presidential elections with my party colleagues, we agreed to examine both of the issues in parallel,” the lawmaker said in the program “Replica” on Prime TV in the evening of December 11.
Last weekend, in an interview for the publication “Panorama”, Veaceslav Ionita said the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova will follow the behavior of all the partners from the ruling alliance and, depending on their attitude towards the adoption of the 2012 state budget, will decide whether to take part in the presidential elections or not.
“Judging by their statements, we have fewer and fewer arguments in favor of taking part in the voting on December 16. If the state budget is not passed by then, it will mean that they do not have confidence in the Government and want early elections. It is a serious risk that may lead to the resignation of the Cabinet,” said Veaceslav Ionita.
Under the schedule proposed by the parliamentary commission on economy, budget and finance, the budgetary-fiscal policy was to be adopted in first and second readings by December 9, while in third reading – one day before the presidential elections. Earlier, the Democratic Party of Moldova said the Liberal-Democrats announced they will vote for the presidential candidate only if the 2012 state budget is passed.
