“In the local elections of 2011, the Liberal Democratic Party will field a powerful candidate for mayor general of Chisinau,” the party’s president, Prime Minister Vlad Filat said in the program “Prima Sursa (“First Source”) on the TV channel Prime, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vlad Filat avoided saying the name of the candidate, but stressed that he has real chances of becoming mayor general of Chisinau. ”He is a member of the PLDM team and I will personally support this candidate in the election campaign and will go from home to home, if need be, as we did in the 2007 elections,” Vlad Filat said. The Premier also said that the PLDM’s candidate in the local elections of 2011 will have worthy opponents like Dorin Chirtoaca and Serafim Urecheanu as well as the Communists Party’s contender.
