The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) submitted a complaint to the Central Election Commission whereby it asks that the Democratic Party (PDM) should be obliged to immediately remove the electoral materials that contain images of the mayor of Măgdăcești village of Criuleni district Liuba Cojocaru. According to the PLDM, the use of promotional materials that contain explicit images of a person without his/her consent is illegal, IPN reports.
In a press release, the PLDM says Liuba Cojocaru is a member of the PLDM and she enjoys the protection of the party and its administrative bodies from attacks and political pressure of any kind, while the accomplishments to which reference is made in the PDM’s brochure have nothing to do with this party, being exclusively the results of the local public administration.
Asked to comment, spokeswoman for the PDM Stela Nistor said the Democratic Party took note of the complaint filed by a party that does not run in the snap parliamentary elections and will pronounce on it when the complaint is examined by the CEC.
The Lib-Dems earlier announced that they will not compete in the snap parliamentary elections of June 11, but will support the Party of Action and Solidarity.
