The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) on October 12 began officially its election campaign. In the campaign launching event, all the party’s 103 candidates went up the stage, while the administration of the PLDM presented the election platform entitled “Plan 2020”, which is a strategic document whose goals are to improve the education system, create new jobs, fight corruption and advance the European integration process, IPN reports.
According to the party’s chairman Vlad Filat, the “Plan 2020” aims to continue the change that started in 2009, when the pro-European government came to power. In the five years since then, the Lib-Dems managed to obtain crucial accomplishments, including to reform the education sector and eliminate cheating in the Baccalaureate exams, to repair roads, to liberalize the visa regime and sign the Association Agreement with the EU.
Vlad Filat admitted that not all the promises they made were delivered, but expressed his confidence that Moldova follows the correct path. “We go on so that our qualified workers could enjoy decent living conditions, the European, modern roads in our country are a rule, not an exception, our farmers could get the best prices, our young people are able to develop their intellectual capacities and benefit from the best education so as to compete for the best positions,” said the former Premier.
He called on the members and supporters of the party to become more actively involved in the election campaign, underlining the importance of this autumn’s elections. ”The choice is crucial – either backward, in the jail of peoples, of forward, towards a European future. Moldova needs the involvement of each of us. I call upon you to find time and energy to build together with us the European future of our children, who will be grateful to us for this,” stated Vlad Filat.
The PLDM will be the fourth on the list of contenders written in the ballots for the November 30 parliamentary elections.
