I don’t know the value of such a gift, but I think the bags, scarves, matches and other stuff distributed before elections are gifts that should be banned by law,” Corneliu Ciurea stated for Info-Prim Neo. Contacted by the Agency, CEC secretary Iurie Ciocan said the central electoral authority cannot pronounce on this case until it analyzes the distributed goods. He also said that the things made especially for the election campaign cannot be considered electoral presents if they were planned in the electoral fund. Drawing a parallel with the Democratic Party, which was warned for distributing packs of carrot and parsley seeds with its symbols on them, Iurie Ciocan said the seeds were not prepared for the election campaign, but for other purposes.
