The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) called upon their partners from the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) to keep the pro-European majority in Parliament and to contribute, by signing a new alliance agreement, to exercising governance responsibly, efficiently and professionally. A resolution containing this call was adopted in the meeting of the National Political Council of the PLDM on February 23, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the party, the chairman of the PLDM, Prime Minister Vlad Filat spoke about the latest events and stated the party’s position on them, reiterating the necessity of re-forming the AEI. At the end of the meeting, there was adopted the Declaration of the National Political Council of the PLDM on the current political situation, which condemns the political blackmail, justice by order, and the use of the state institutions for related purposes. The Council also chose new members of the party’s executive bodies. Petru Bodarev was elected as deputy chairman of the PLDM. He became a member of the PLDM at the end of 2009, and was then named coordinator of the Briceni local organization of the PLDM. He had held this post until recently. Petru Bodarev owns a shoe factory.
