PLDM asks rescheduling, PSRM refuses to take part in consultations with President

The parliamentary group of the Liberal Democratic Party asked rescheduling the consultations with President Nicolae Timofti held with the aim of choosing a candidate for premiership. The consultations start today, November 9, IPN reports.

The presidential press service said the discussion with the PLDM was rescued for another day. More information about it will be provided later.

According to the new schedule, Nicolae Timofti will meet with the group of the Liberal Party at 11:45, while with the group of the Democratic Party - at 12:30. He was to also have consultations with the Communist group at 3pm and with the group of the Party of Socialists at 3:45.

Meanwhile, the Socialist group announced that it will not take part in the consultations with the head of state and in the formation of the new Government and will not field a candidate for Prime Minister. “The PSRM reiterates its firm position that the early parliamentary elections are the only solution for overcoming the crisis faced by Moldova,” the party says in a press release.

The consultations take place at the State Residence located at 23 Nicolae Iorga St in Chisinau.
