PLDM and PL will be careful when considering forming new coalitions

The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and the Liberal Party (PL) will be very cautious in the future, especially when they will be in the situation to make political coalitions, Liberal-Democratic lawmaker Tudor Deliu and Liberal MP Valeriu Munteanu said in the program “Politica” on the channel TV7, IPN reports.

“The PLDM will be very careful when it will consider forming new political coalitions so as not to ally with those who hit from behind in critical moments,” said Tudor Deliu, referring to the former collation partners, the Liberal MPs. Valeriu Munteanu replied that it is the Liberals who should think carefully who to ally with, especially after seven colleagues went against the party’s decision and decided to vote the PLDM leader Vlad Filat Prime Minister.

In the same program, the two MPs made reference to the Constitutional Court decision providing that Vlad Filat cannot be Prime Minister after he was dismissed by Parliament on suspicion of acts of corruption. Tudor Deliu said that the jurisdiction of Moldova was shaken and that the Constitutional Court violated the Constitution itself. Valeriu Munteanu contradicted him, saying the Court’s decision should not be discussed, but implemented. As to the corruption in the Cabinet, he said that the Prime Minister didn’t do enough to root it out from the Government.

The Constitutional Court ruled that Vlad Filat was designated Prime Minister in breach of the constitutional norms the same day that the candidate secured the number of votes needed for the new Government to be voted in. President Nicolae Timofti named Vlad Filat’s party colleague Iurie Leanca as interim Prime Minister.
