The first deputy chairman of the Liberal Party (PL) Dorin Chirtoaca said the PLDM and PDM will have to choose between a tacit alliance with the Communists and an official alliance with the PL, in the PL–PLDM – PDM format, which will be based on the compromise solutions reached in the presence of the European partners. Chirtoaca said the PL will not take part in a common vote with the PCRM, IPN reports.
“The PLDM and PDM reached an agreement with the Party of Communists. This is the first result of the negotiations held over the last month and a half. The second result is that this tacit or obvious coalition of the PLDM and PDM with the Communists does not respect the wish of the voters and this is absolutely evident. The third thing that I can say is that the Liberal Party, at its National Council, unanimously pronounced in favor of forming a pro-European coalition with the PLDM and PDM, based on the compromises reached with the European parties,” Dorin Chirtoaca said after the January 26 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and subdivisions.
The mayor also said that the PL proposed seven variants of forming the Government, with different rules and methods inspired by the European practice, but all of them were rejected. “The question to the PLDM and PDM is – why they chose the Communists’ proposal when they analyzed the offers made by the European Union and the Communists?” stated Dorin Chirtoaca.
On January 23, the PLDM and PDM signed an agreement on the formation of the Political Alliance for a European Moldova. The three pro-European parties could not reach a compromise after holding talks during almost two months.
