The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and the Democratic Party (PDM) decided to assume together governance and urge all the parliamentary factions to vote in the Head of Parliament. The announcement was made by the leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat at the beginning of the January 23 sitting of the legislative body.

At the request of the PDM, a break of 40 minutes was announced before fielding candidates for the post of Parliamentary Speaker, IPN reports.
