Playing children blamed for two fires
Children playing with matches are said to be responsible for two fires which broke out on Sunday, April 20. Two vehicles were also damaged in fires.
Liliana Puscasu of the Fire & Rescue Dept. has told Info-Prim Neo that children accidentally set fire to a home in Calarasi. The flames managed to destroy the content of a 100 m2 room before the firefighters arrived.
Also, children set ablaze a barn in Chetrosica Veche village, Edinet district. The arrived fire crew managed to contain the fire before it spread to the nearby house.
The engine of an Audi-110 car exploded as a result of an impact with another vehicle in Orhei town. The flames spread all over the car and damaged it heavily.
In Chisinau’s suburban town of Durlesti, a short circuit under the hood of a Volkswagen-Transporter sparked a fire in the vehicle, destroying the engine compartment and damaging the passenger compartment.
7 fires were recorded in Moldova on Sunday. In 20 days of the current month there were registered 60 fires, which brought damages to property valued at more than half a million lei. The leading causes of fire were short circuits, careless smoking indoors and children playing with fire.
