Works to build a playground are carried out at the intersection of the streets Decebal and Dacia in Botanica district of Chisinau. Works to set up fitness/workout grounds are executed in the same area. The Public Amenities Division said the works are performed as part of the special purpose municipal program to build playgrounds in public places and green areas.

Contacted by IPN for details, Vasile Efros, head of the Division’s Territorial Development and Environment Unit, said the works at the intersection of the streets Decebal and Dacia will be completed within two weeks. The works on another playground and fitness/workout grounds at 24 Valea Crucii St are close to completion. Only urban furniture is to be set up there. Works are also performed to build sidewalks and to place curbs.

Other similar projects of the Public Amenities Division are at the stage of tender contests. The locations of future playgrounds are chosen according to the requests made by locals in coordination with district head’s offices.

This year, the Chisinau City Hall allocated 20 million lei for setting up playgrounds and 10 million lei for building fitness grounds.
