Platform to finance projects of youth to be launched

The young people will be able to register their projects on the online platform “StartUp-Moldova” so that they can be seen by persons interested in supporting financially different innovatory ideas. The platform will be launched at the beginning of May, while the number of registered projects will not be limited. The platform is designed by the public association “Start-Moldova”, Info-Prim Neo reports.

“Start-Moldova” co-founder Alexandru Popovici told a news conference that this platform aims to eliminate the system of donations that will be replaced by recompense offering for financial contribution to the project.

The young people are to take ten steps to make their projects proposed for financing public. The authors will provide accurate information about themselves, will make a video about the project, will publish a CV on the platform and data about the necessary financing. Other persons will find out details about the project and will decide whether to support it financially or not.

No limit is put on the invested amounts. After the project is implemented, the author will provide recompense to those who supported it. For example, if the money was provided for producing a CD, the authors will offer by a copy of the CD, an autograph, tickets to the concert, etc.

Alexandru Popovici also said that they aim to promote interesting projects. The authors will have 60 days to collect the necessary sum. If they do not manage to, the money will be given back to the sponsors.

Iurie Crijanovschi, director of the platform creation project, said that “StarUp-Moldova” will be promoted among students of education establishments. They are now working on the platforms’ website.

The money for supporting the projects will be transferred to authors’ accounts opened at Moldova-Agroindbank. Ala Polustanova, head of the bank’s Products Department, said that Moldova-Agroindbank always supported the young people and intends to finance the successful projects within “StarUp-Moldova”.

Ion Ţiganas, vice director of the State Agency on Intellectual Property Protection, said that the authors of the projects should take steps to protect their ideas so that they are not stolen after they are made public. AGEPI will advise the young people on the protection of their intellectual rights.
