Platform of women MPs and civil society to stage national forum

The Common Dialogue Platform of women MPs and representatives of civil society intend to stage the third national public forum “Partnership for an Inclusive and Prosperous Moldova: Woman Counts”. A working meeting was staged on March 1 to plan the event that was scheduled for March 28, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the Platform, it was agreed that this year the forum will include nine thematic groups that will debate issues of common interest such as the accessibility of state institutions to persons with special needs, recognition of studies and qualifications obtained outside the country by migrant women, and the social integration of migrant women’s children.

There will also be discussed such issues as the change of the approach to the maternity leave for Moldovan women, the women’s access to financing for developing businesses, policies to facilitate the development of social entrepreneurship, etc.

Among the subjects that will be discussed within thematic groups are the elderly people’s access to compensated drugs, the retirement age for women, combating of domestic violence against women and the ratification of the Istanbul Convention.

The third national public forum ““Partnership for an Inclusive and Prosperous Moldova: Woman Counts” will be organized with support from the UN Women in Moldova.
