Platform “Dignity and Truth” will become a party, Cornelia Cozonac

The head of the Journalistic Investigations Center Cornelia Cozonac, who is a founding member of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth”, said the platform will become a party. In an interview for Epoch Times, Cornelia Cozonac said she won’t be a member of this party, but will support it. According to her, a new political force is needed and good people are joining the platform. Former minister of education Maia Sandu could become a member and the leader of this party, IPN reports.

“I think there are much more people with potential, professional experience and very good training that can come together in this party and can ensure the change. Anyway, real elections will take place not earlier than in a year. I think there is enough time to build an alternative to the current government. If the people are better informed, these will vote consciously,” stated Cornelia Cozonac.

She noted that most of the members of the Platform don’t think that obtaining the Government’s dismissal will be easy, but hope to constitute a group of people who would come to change things in the wake of new elections. “I’m not a supporter of drastic measures, but the members of the Platform decided to demand early elections because the change will not happen otherwise. The current government didn’t respond to the civil society’s demands and satisfied none of the demands formulated in the other protests that brought together a lot of people,” said the Journalistic Investigations Center’s head.

The participants in the protest staged by the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” on September 6 demanded that the senior administration should resign and that early parliamentary elections should be held next March at the latest.
