The leaders of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” said they didn’t give up seeking the resignation of President Nicolae Timofti, while the information disseminated by the presidential press service, according to which in the meeting with the head of state they declared the opposition, is not true, IPN reports.
In a news conference, one of the Platform’s leaders Andrei Nastase said nobody renounced the initial demands. “These are lies. We asked immediately convening an extraordinary sitting of Parliament where to discuss the President’s resignation,” he stated.
Platform member Chiril Motpan spoke about the plans for the next few days, saying the members of the Platform go through the country and meet with the people. Today they will meet with residents of Lozova village and of Cahul town. Tomorrow, September 20, similar meetings will be held in Telenesti and Soroca.
A national automobile protest march will be also mounted on September 20. The cars will set off from the National Television Company at 12 midday. The protesters who do not have cars can go to the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau, where members of the Platform will present a progress report.
